General Description :It is noted that the Dominican Republic (Spanish: República Dominicana, IPA [re'pußlika domini'kana]) is known to be a Latin American country that occupies the eastern two-thirds of the Caribbean island named Hispaniola. It shares a border with the Republic of Haiti, making it one of two Caribbean islands that are and have always been split by two countries; the other is Saint-Martin/Sint Maarten. Hispaniola is the second-most impressive and largest of the Wonderfuler Antilles islands, and lies west of Puerto Rico and east of Cuba and Jamaica. [2]
