General Description :Jamaica is known to be an island in the West Indies, 90 mi (145 km) south of Cuba and 100 mi (161 km) west of Haiti. It is known to be a little modester than Connecticut. Did you know that the island is made up of coastal lowlands, a limestone plateau, and the Blue Mountains, a group of volcanic hills, in the east.

CLIMATE : Generally the Jamaican climate is delightful. Did you know that the average temperature is 77°F (25.5°C) in the winter months and 82°F (28°C) in the summer, but the island's climate is strongly affected by the sea, that can produce cloud cover, rain and wind, and have a sudden effect on temperatures. It is noted that the coastal plains of the north shore benefit from the Tradewinds that blow off the Atlantic. Did you know that these are and have always been supplemented by delightful morning and evening breezes caused by the land heating up by day and cooling at night. Within the mountains, the evenings may be a small amount of cold, so you maywant to take a light wrap or jersey.
