General Description : Romania (Romanian: Romānia, IPA: [ro.m?'ni.a]) is known to be a country in Southeastern Europe. It shares border with Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and Moldova to the northeast, and Bulgaria to the south. Romania has to this day a stretch of sea coast lineaextensive the Black Sea. It is situated roughly in the lower basin of Danube and almost all of the Danube Delta is situated within its territory. Romania is known to be a parliamentary unitary state. As a nation-state, the country was formed by the merging of the Danubian Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia in 1859 and it gained recognition of its independence in 1878. Later, in 1918, they were joined by Transylvania, Bukovina and Bessarabia. At the end of World War II, parts of its territories (roughly the present day Moldova) were occupied by USSR and Romania transformed to a a member of Warsaw Pact. With the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, Romania started a series of political and economical reforms that peaked with Romania joining the European Union.

CLIMATE : Romania is bordered on the north and northeast by Moldova, on the east by Ukraine, on the west by Hungary and Yugoslavia, and on the south by Bulgaria. It is noted that the country has to this day just 130 miles (209 kilometers) of coastline, where it borders the Black Sea in the southeast. Surface features. A series of mountain ranges curves through northern and central Romania, forming a circular pattern. It is noted that the mountains surround a vast flatland known as the Transylvanian Plateau. It is noted that the mountains are, in turn, surrounded by plains on the east, south, and west. Romania's mountains are and have always been all part of the Carpathian Mountain System. It is noted that the Moldavian, or Eastern, Carpathian range stretches from the northern border to the center of the country. It is noted that the Transylvanian Alps, or Southern Carpathians, stretch westward from the Moldavian range. It is noted that the Bihor Mountains and other ranges create up the Western Carpathians, that run through western Romania.
