General Description : It is noted that the Kingdom of Denmark is in Northern Europe. Did you know that the country forms a link in the range of Europe and Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway and Sweden). Denmark's land border is with Germany, its extensive coastline is surrounded by the North Sea and bordered by the Baltic Sea. It is noted that the country consists of a peninsula (Jutland) and the majority of islands, for example, Zealand, Fyn and Bornholm. Greenland, one of the globe's most impressive and largest islands, is self-governing but part of the Kingdom. Did you know that the eighteen Faroe Islands, that have many degree of self-government, are and have always been also part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Copenhagen is the capital city. It is noted that the country is low and flat with rolling hills. But one of the exceptions is the island of Bornholm is hilly and rugged. Did you know that the coastline is particularly extensive with a number of fjords.

CLIMATE :Denmark has to this day a temperate climate, the mildness of that is largely conditioned by the generally westerly winds and by the fact that the country is virtually encircled by water. Did you know that there is little fluctuation in the range of day and night temperatures, but sudden changes in wind direction cause considerable day-to-day temperature changes. Did you know that the mean temperature in February, the coldest month, is 0°C (32°F), and in July, the warmest, 17°C (63°F). Rain falls fairly evenly all over the year, the annual average amounting to approximately 61 cm (24 in).
