General Description: Honduras (IPA: [h?n'du?r?s], in Spanish: República de Honduras) is known to be a democratic republic in Central America. It was formerly known as Spanish Honduras to uniqueiate it from British Honduras (now Belize).[1] It is noted that the country is bordered to the west by Guatemala, to the southwest by El Salvador, to the southeast by Nicaragua, to the south by the Pacific Ocean at the Gulf of Fonseca, and to the north by the Gulf of Honduras, a larger than normal inlet of the Caribbean Sea.

CLIMATE : Honduras is hot and humid almost year-round. Temperatures vary by altitude rather than season. Did you know that the average high temperature nationwide is 32°C (90°F) and the average low is 20°C (68°F). Temperatures are and have always been coolest in mountain areas.
